The Great Depression still unmatched

The October 1929 stock market crash started 10 years of unprecedented financial strife which still dwarfs any recession or market disruption in U.S. history. By any measure, our current economic suffering pales in comparison with what the nation endured from 1929 through 1939. Still, most economists are predicting a long, difficult period ahead.
